Welcome to DePaul College Prep, a Vincentian Catholic community of faith and learning that embraces the religious, racial, social and economic diversity of our beloved City of Chicago. We are proud to be a Chicago high school for Chicago families.
DePaul Prep’s academic partnership with DePaul University, dedicated faculty, innovative teaching and learning curriculum, and our diverse community of students combine to create a rigorous academic environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and values each student as a child of God. DePaul Prep is equally proud of our graduates who attend outstanding colleges and universities across the United States and abroad.
As a Catholic and Vincentian high school, sponsored by the Congregation of the Mission, our students and faculty respond to the central question posed to St. Vincent de Paul more than three hundred years ago: “What Must Be Done?” Our collective responses to the Vincentian Question are central to who we are and to the values we live daily.
DePaul Prep’s core values of Faith, Respect, Excellence, Service, and Health are intimately connected to each student’s experience as a member of our school community. At DePaul Prep, we are guided by faith, steeped in academic rigor and committed to service for the betterment of our society.
As you look through our website, I hope you are able to sense the energy, community and spirit of DePaul College Prep. I look forward to welcoming you to campus.
St. Vincent de Paul, pray for us! St. Louise de Marillac, pray for us!

Our Mission
DePaul College Prep, in partnership with DePaul University, is a Vincentian, Catholic community that provides a rigorous college prep education. Guided by our core values of Faith, Respect, Excellence, Service, and Health, we educate young adults of Chicago to think independently, pursue intellectual excellence, practice compassion, and value all individuals as children of God.
Our Core Values
Faith
Our framework is the Catholic Tradition, with a special devotion to our founders and sponsors, the Congregation of the Mission, the Vincentians. In keeping with Saint Vincent’s great question, “What must be done?” students learn what it looks like to bring people on the margins into community through service. Prayer and Mass are a part of everyday life at the school, in addition to annual retreats through which students explore their God-given unique gifts and their identity as a beloved creation.
Respect
Ours is an urban school community that reflects and engages with the multicultural and socioeconomic diversity of our city. By extension, we cultivate a caring relationship toward our school environment, neighborhood, and planet.
Excellence
We define excellence as challenging you to go beyond your own comfort level in the classroom, on the court, with friends, on the stage, or in our maker spaces. By fostering unique gifts and self-respect in each student, we develop a sense of confidence and integrity you express in every facet of life.
Service
100% of DePaul Prep students engage in community service projects that serve the diverse needs and populations in our city.
Health
As a Catholic school, our holistic approach teaches students to honor their bodies and well-being as a gift from God, “fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139). This spirit is infused into all that we do at DePaul Prep from the athletics fields and dining hall, to the classroom and chapel. Through our FRESH Foundations Advisory program, counseling department, and campus ministry, we equip students to nurture their hearts, minds, and bodies.
